Top Altcoins Price Forecast: Post-midterms rally continues for Ripple, Cardano and Solana

  • Above $1.3100 on Thursday, XRP adds to its gains as bulls look to regain the 50-day EMA around $1.3357.
  • Following a 4% gain the previous day, Cardano rises further as it seeks to recover the broken trendline near $0.2040.
  • The 200-day EMA at $98.07 continues to limit Solana’s recovery, although momentum is turning bullish again.

The 50-day EMA near $1.3357 is being tested by XRP on Thursday, while ADA seeks to regain its lost trendline near $0.2040 and SOL approaches its 200-day EMA at $98.07. Leading altcoins, including Ripple (XRP), Cardano (ADA), and Solana (SOL), remain in positive territory, building on this week’s steady recovery as relief following the US midterms supports sentiment. Easing selling pressure leaves the technical outlook for these leading altcoins bullish.

Ripple gains as buying pressure returns

A third consecutive day of gains takes Ripple to $1.3191 at the time of writing on Thursday. Around $1.2691, XRP has broken above the short-term resistance trendline linking the highs of 23 September and 28 October.

Despite the recent rebound, the broader bias remains bearish: the price is still constrained in the near term by the 50-period Exponential Moving Average (EMA) at $1.3357 and the 200-period EMA at $1.3580.

On the daily chart, a move above the signal line by the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) points to improving momentum. The Relative Strength Index (RSI), meanwhile, sits around the neutral 50 mark. Together, these indicators suggest buying interest is returning, though it is not yet sufficient to alter the trend.

The 50-period EMA at $1.3357 presents the first resistance for XRP. Clearing it would bring the more substantial hurdle at the 200-period EMA at $1.3579 into view.

Daily price chart for XRP/USDT.

Should selling pressure return, the former descending resistance trendline offers immediate support around $1.2691, having now switched to a support role. Further below, the psychological $1.0000 level provides a deeper cushion.

Cardano holds its key support

After rising 4% the previous day, Cardano is little changed around $0.1985. The near-term bias for ADA nevertheless remains bearish, with the price below its former rising trendline support at $0.2034. The 50-day EMA at $0.2151 and the 200-day EMA at $0.2381 also continue to cap advances.

Trading below these key averages leaves rallies vulnerable to selling. Although the MACD has edged towards its signal line in preparation for a bullish crossover, and the RSI near 40 has recovered modestly from recently oversold levels, the indicators point only to tentative stabilisation, rather than a clear reversal.

Regaining the lost trendline near $0.2034 is necessary for Cardano to re-establish an upward trendline. Such a move could open the way to the 50-day EMA at $0.2151.

Chart Analysis ADA/USDT (Binance)
Daily price chart for ADA/USDT.

Intact since 30 August, the horizontal level around $0.1894 offers key support. It stands between the price and a decline towards the 18 August low of $0.1712.

Solana rebounds from a key support trendline

Having bounced from its rising support trendline around $89.69, Solana is testing the 200-day EMA at $98.08. At the time of writing on Thursday, it trades around $96.80.

The daily chart shows recovering momentum, with the RSI close to 40 and the MACD line poised to cross above its signal line. These conditions suggest that downside pressure remains.

A daily close above the 200-day EMA at $98.08 would provide the first indication that pressure is easing. Beyond that, the 50-day EMA near $102.71 offers stronger resistance, ahead of the previous horizontal barriers at $110.60 and $122.94.

Chart Analysis SOL/USDT (Binance)
Daily price chart for SOL/USDT.

If the price retreats, the rising trendline around $89.69 offers the first support, followed by the horizontal level at $87.21. A steeper decline would bring the more distant support levels at $70.58 and $60.13 into focus.
