USD/CHF Price Forecast: Bullish engulfing pattern brings 0.8400 into focus

Higher highs and higher lows remain intact as USD/CHF confirms a bullish engulfing pattern.
With buyers nearing resistance at 0.8300, a bullish RSI reinforces upward momentum.
A move through 0.8300 would bring 0.8354 into view, ahead of 0.8395 and 0.8400.

A modest 0.09% rise on Tuesday puts USD/CHF on course for its third consecutive daily gain, extending its recovery from last Friday’s monthly low of 0.8191. Trading at 0.8282, the pair has buyers looking towards 0.8300.

A sequence of higher highs and higher lows continues to underpin the upward trend in USD/CHF. Monday’s move above the 23 October high of 0.8256 confirmed the ‘bullish engulfing’ candlestick pattern formed last week, reinforcing the trend’s continuation.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) indicates that momentum has shifted in favour of the bulls. With both price action and the RSI pointing higher, the path of least resistance for USD/CHF remains to the upside.

At 0.8300, the pair faces its first level of interest. Moving above it would open the way to the 15 October high of 0.8354, ahead of the 14 October swing high at 0.8395. Beyond that, attention would turn to 0.8400 and then the 12 May 2025 high of 0.8476.

Should a bearish reversal develop, Monday’s low at 0.8232 would provide the first support for USD/CHF. Further down, the 50-day Simple Moving Average (SMA) stands at 0.8202, just above the 0.8200 level. A break below this area would open a route towards the 100-day SMA at 0.8143.
