Top Altcoins Price Forecast: Hyperliquid rebounds as pressure weighs on Ripple and Solana

  • Ripple has lost over 2% on Thursday. The decline extends below $1.30, with key moving averages continuing to cap the price.
  • A 2% decline so far has brought Solana to a test of its 200-day EMA and the $100 psychological level as selling pressure intensifies.
  • A 7% gain has lifted Hyperliquid back above its 50-day EMA at $81.21, signalling a possible revival in bullish momentum.

Altcoin Institutional Demand Falters

$33.04 million has flowed out of Solana-focused ETFs this week. Wednesday accounted for $5.66 million, following outflows of over $19 million and $8 million earlier in the week, as near-term institutional appetite for altcoins remains subdued. Should the week finish with net outflows, it would be the fourth consecutive weekly withdrawal, signalling heavy selling pressure from institutional investors.

For XRP and HYPE, institutional activity was muted on Wednesday, with neither recording any inflows. Weekly outflows stand at $3.61 million and $4.30 million, respectively.

$1.2588 Support at Risk for Ripple

At $1.2924 at press time on Thursday, Ripple retains a bearish short-term outlook. The 50-day and 200-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs), at $1.3574 and $1.3891 respectively, remain well above XRP.

A retreat below the descending trendline resistance at $1.3216 also indicates that recent efforts to regain that barrier have been unsuccessful.

Daily momentum indicators point to weakness rather than exhaustion. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is near 40, while the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) is flat below zero, suggesting that a rebound may face limits.

If a break below $1.2588, the 21 August low, is confirmed, losses could deepen towards the 2 August high near $1.0933.

Any rebound would first encounter resistance near $1.3216, where the trendline was broken. Beyond that sit the 50-day EMA at $1.3574 and a stronger structural barrier at the 200-day EMA of $1.3891.

200-Day EMA Support Under Test for Solana

Around $100 on Thursday, Solana continues to show a bearish short-term bias. SOL remains above the longer-term 200-day EMA at $98.36, but below its 50-day EMA at $105.

With the RSI near 35, just above oversold territory, and the MACD still below zero, downside momentum appears to be fading but remains dominant.

Another test of the ascending support trendline near $87.26 could follow a sustained close below the 200-day EMA at $98.36.

The 50-day EMA near $105.44 presents the first resistance, limiting rebound attempts. Regaining it would be necessary to establish a more constructive bullish phase.

50-Day EMA Caps Hyperliquid

Above $86.00 on Thursday, Hyperliquid retains a bullish short-term outlook. Recent volatility has not disrupted the broader uptrend: HYPE remains comfortably above both the 50-day EMA at $81.82 and the 200-day EMA at $67.77.

An RSI near 59 and a positive MACD provide a constructive momentum backdrop, suggesting buyers still have control.

The 3 September high near $88.14 marks HYPE's first resistance. Clearing it could pave the way towards the 23 September high around $98.30, followed by the psychological $100 level.

The first downside support lies at the 50-day EMA near $81.82. Further below, the ascending trendline around $76.07 and the 200-day EMA at $67.77 underpin the longer-term bullish structure. Deeper declines are expected to draw interest from buyers seeking to enter on pullbacks.
